Summer holidays are fast approaching! We have had some strange British Summer weather which feels more autumn than summer. So, you'll probably need to find some inside activities to keep your little ones entertained. Here is a really fun and simple idea to help distract young minds using paints.
Poster paints and a palette
Newspaper (to protect surfaces!)
Cover the working surface with newspaper to protect it from paint and pour a small amount of paint in to the palette. Use as many or as few colours as you would like.
Little fingers (or big ones!) can then be placed in the paint to create random splodges on the page.
Wait for the paint to dry.
Once the paint is dry, you can scan or photograph the pictures to create a stock of finger paint templates. This is handy for a quick drawing activity when you don't want the mess of the finger painting.
Now it's time to let the imagination go wild! The splodges can be connected and drawn around to create an infinite number of pictures. Here are some of those I've created from the splodges shown above.
