Handmade in Britain 2016

Another week, another fair! On Friday, I paid a visit to Handmade in Britain – a contemporary crafts and design fair held at Chelsea Old Town Hall.  The building alone is worth a visit, grade II listed, it was a beautiful setting for so many pretty creations. The show ran over three days and featured a wide selection of designer-makers.

As is often the case with a fair like this, I could have bought a hundred different items if I had the money. The variety of ideas, skills and detail that designer-makers can produce never fails to amaze me. Here are just a few of my favourites from the day.

Rachel Ducker – wire sculpture

I loved the dynamic feel of these sculptures – I half expected them to jump off the shelf.

Yuta Segawa - ceramics

These tiny delicate ceramic pieces were just beautiful.

Michael Topham – mixed media artist & designer

I love the shadows created by these pieces and the fun, unusual designs.

Remy Dubibe - ceramics artist

More beautiful, delicate ceramics. Such a wonderful variety of colours.

Did you go to Handmade in Britain? If so, which were your favourite designer-makers?
