Earlier this week, on a bright sunny Autumn morning, I attended a meeting in High Wycombe. On my way home I decided to take a little cultural detour. I drove through the picturesque West Wycombe and along the A40 to Piddington.
Just the other side of Piddington, there was a little sign indicating that I’d found my destination. I turned off on to a little lane lined by trees. Then as the trees cleared, a beautiful view of the Chiltern Hills appeared and there was a little house.
Fillingdon Fine Arts is a hidden gem in the Buckinghamshire countryside with a collection of African Art. Owned by Debs Digby who travels to Africa and meets with the artists to discuss their work, inspiration and processes. It is a beautiful collection of original art and craft.
They have set exhibition times throughout the year in the Spring, Summer and Autumn. Outside of these times you need to make an appointment or you can purchase via their website.
It is a lovely exhibition in a relaxed environment to enjoy the exhibits. There are lots of different items to suit every pocket and they currently have Christmas decorations and small items which would make perfect Christmas gifts.
I couldn’t resist this little snowflake decoration, I just need to decided where to hang it as I don’t want it to be lost on my Christmas tree! Isn’t it cute?
Their current exhibition runs until Saturday 3 December and I would highly recommend a visit!
